Proxim Orinoco 8480-WD
Hi, my name is Bicho aka the DarkModder
I purchased this Proxim card a few months ago for about $100 but I was very disappointed with its performance so I decided to take it apart and see what kind of modds I can do to make it better.
To my biggest surprise I found out that it had a port that looked like it could be used for an external antenna and aligned with that connector is a whole in the plastic covered with a sticker. It seems like Proxim's original design for the card included an external antenna but they changed their mind and covered it with a sticker. The following are a few pictures I took of my findings, if anyone has any idea what kind of connector can be used to connect an ext. antenna let me know so I can make the info public!
